WebP to PNG converter
Convert WebP to PNG to keep transparency and get a lossless file every editor can open.
Convert to
Lossless and keeps transparency. Files are larger. AVIF needs WebAssembly, which this browser has turned off.
How did this tool do?
When to turn a WebP into a PNG
Choose PNG over JPG when the WebP has a transparent background, such as a logo, sticker or cut-out saved from a website. PNG keeps the transparency, and every design tool and editor opens it.
PNG is also the better starting point for editing. It's lossless, so cropping, annotating and re-saving it doesn't degrade it further the way repeated JPG saves do.
Expect the PNG to be noticeably larger than the WebP: it stores the image exactly, where WebP was compressing it. The conversion can't restore detail the WebP had already discarded.

Converting formats, answered
Does converting WebP to PNG keep transparency?
Yes. Both formats store transparency, so a see-through background stays see-through.
Why is the PNG larger than the WebP?
PNG is lossless and stores every pixel exactly; WebP achieved its size partly by discarding detail. The PNG is optimised with OxiPNG but will still be bigger.
Should I use PNG or JPG?
PNG if there's transparency, text or sharp graphics. JPG if it's a photo and you want the smallest widely supported file.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, so the files never leave your device and it keeps working with your connection off.
