Choosing a resolution and format for PDF pages
A PDF page has no pixel size of its own: text and drawings are stored as shapes, so the resolution is picked when the page is turned into an image. DPI means pixels per inch of paper. At 150 DPI an A4 page comes out at about 1240 × 1754 px, which is sharp on any screen. At 300 DPI it's about 2480 × 3508 px, which is what printers expect, and the file is roughly four times larger. 72 DPI is only for small previews and thumbnails.
JPG gives the smallest files and suits pages with photos. PNG keeps text, lines and diagrams perfectly crisp, because it never blurs sharp edges, so it's the better choice for text-heavy pages you want to read or zoom in on. WebP sits between the two: smaller than PNG and cleaner than JPG, but some older apps can't open it.
You don't have to convert the whole document. Choose pages and type a range such as 1-3, 5 to get only the ones you need. Several pages download together as a ZIP. Password-protected PDFs can't be opened yet, so remove the password in your PDF app first.

Which resolution should I use?
