HEIC to PNG converter
Convert iPhone HEIC photos to lossless PNG for editing, printing or apps that need PNG.
How did this tool do?
When HEIC to PNG is the right conversion
PNG is lossless, so converting a HEIC to PNG keeps every detail of the photo as your iPhone decoded it. That makes it the right choice when you're going to edit the photo in several steps, send it for high-quality printing, or use an app that only accepts PNG.
The trade-off is size. HEIC is one of the most efficient photo formats there is, and PNG isn't built for photographs, so a 2 MB HEIC can easily become a PNG many times larger. If you just need the photo to open on Windows or Android, HEIC to JPG gives you a far smaller file.
Live Photos and burst shots give you their first frame as a still, and location and camera data aren't carried over, which is worth knowing before you share the file.
Where you'll meet it
Editing in several passes
Start from a lossless copy so repeated saves don't degrade it.
High-quality printing
Hand a print service the full detail rather than a compressed JPG.
Apps that require PNG
Some design tools and upload forms accept PNG but not HEIC.

HEIC files, answered
Is HEIC to PNG lossless?
The PNG stores the decoded photo exactly, with no further compression loss. It can't add detail beyond what the HEIC held.
Why is the PNG so much bigger than the HEIC?
HEIC compresses photos very efficiently; PNG stores every pixel. For photos that you only want to share, HEIC to JPG is the smaller option.
What happens to Live Photos?
You get the first frame as a still PNG. The motion part isn't an image format PNG can hold.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, so the files never leave your device and it keeps working with your connection off.
