Questions, answered

What is EXIF data?

Details your camera or phone saves inside a photo: the device, settings, date and time, and often the exact GPS location where it was taken.

Does removing metadata reduce quality?

Not for JPG, PNG or WebP — only the metadata is removed and the image data is copied byte for byte. HEIC and AVIF are re-saved, as they can't be edited in place.

Will my photo turn sideways?

No. The orientation is kept (it's not personal), along with the colour profile, so the photo looks exactly the same.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, so your images never leave your device — not even for a moment.
