Is the photo uploaded to find the faces?
No. The detector is a small model that downloads to your browser once and then runs on your device. The photo never leaves it, which for a picture of someone's face is rather the point.
Why did it miss a face?
Small, turned, partly hidden or very dark faces are the usual misses, and faces in the far background often fall below the confidence threshold. You can drag a box over anything it missed — it goes in the same pass.
Can a blurred face be recovered?
Sometimes. A heavy blur is hard to undo but not impossible for determined software. If the identity genuinely matters, use Black — it replaces the pixels rather than scrambling them.
Does it work on a batch?
Yes. Add several photos and use All to scan them in one go. Each keeps its own set of areas, and images with none are saved unchanged.
