Text on a background, sized for where it's going

Image sizes the background text generator makes
SizePixelsBest for
Square1080 × 1080Instagram and LinkedIn feed posts
Portrait1080 × 1350Feed posts that fill more of a phone screen
Story1080 × 1920Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook stories, Reels covers
Landscape1920 × 1080Slides, YouTube, X posts and desktop wallpapers

Type your text and it's set as large as the image allows. The page measures every line and wraps it for you, so a three-word title and a long quote both fill the frame without overflowing, and the Text size slider takes it down from there if you'd like more space around it. Your own line breaks are kept, so you decide where a line ends.

The four styles cover most of what text images need. Plain is clean text on the background. Highlight puts a rounded box behind each line, the look of text with a background colour in an Instagram story, and it keeps text readable on a busy photo. Outline draws a thick border around every letter, the classic meme look, and Shadow lifts light text off a bright background.

For the background, pick one of eight gradients, any solid colour, or your own photo. A photo is cropped to fill the frame from its centre, and Darken photo lays a dark veil over it so white text stays readable, which is what most quote images do. The photo stays on your device: the image is drawn in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

There are six fonts: a heavy sans for announcements, a classic serif for quotes, a tall condensed face for punchy titles, the plain system font, a handwritten style that also writes Hindi and other Devanagari text, and a flowing script. Download a PNG for the sharpest text, a JPG when a site wants one, or copy the image straight into a chat or a document.

Questions, answered

How do I get the text with a box behind it, like on Instagram stories?

Choose the Highlight style. Each line gets its own rounded box, and Box colour sets its colour.

Can I put text on my own photo?

Yes. Choose Photo as the background and pick an image. It's cropped to fill the frame, and Darken photo dims it so white text stays readable. The photo never leaves your device.

Which size should I use?

Square (1080 × 1080) or portrait (1080 × 1350) for feed posts, Story (1080 × 1920) for Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook stories, and landscape (1920 × 1080) for slides, YouTube and X.

Does it work for Hindi?

Yes, with the Handwritten font, which covers Devanagari. The other fonts are for Latin script.

Is what I type sent anywhere?

No. The page is drawn in your browser, so your text and name never leave your device.
