How did this tool do?

Making a catalogue of product photos look like one set

A shop page looks messy when some products fill the frame and others float in the middle, or when backgrounds change from white to grey to cream. The fix is the same size, the same margin and the same background on every photo. Drop the whole set in at once and each photo is built from the same settings, so a mug and a lamp sit in the frame the same way.

Trim is what makes this work. It reads the colour in the corners of each photo, crops away the plain background around the product, and then scales the product to fill the space inside your margin. A product shot small in a big white frame ends up the same size as one shot close up. Trim needs a fairly plain, even background. A cluttered table or a strong gradient will be kept as part of the product.

Square 2000 is the safe default because it's large enough for zoom on most marketplaces and works in any square grid. Square 1080 suits smaller shops and Instagram shopping. Portrait 1600 × 2000 fits clothing and 4:5 feeds, and landscape 2000 × 1500 suits wide items. The margin goes from 0 to 25% on each side. Around 5–10% leaves breathing room without making the product look small.

Many marketplaces ask for a plain white background on the main listing image, so White is the default, but check each marketplace's current rules before you publish. Use Colour for your own shop or lifestyle-style grids, and Transparent to place products on your own designs later, saved as PNG or WebP. Start from the largest photo you have: the product is scaled up to fill the frame, and a small original will look soft at 2000 px.

Where you'll meet it

  • Marketplace listings

Square 2000 on white, with every product the same size in frame.

  • Your own shop grid

A soft brand colour behind every product, with an even margin.

  • Cut-outs for design work

Transparent PNG or WebP, trimmed and centred, ready to place elsewhere.

How to use it

  1. 01Drop your product photos — ones shot on a plain background work best.
  2. 02Choose a size, background and margin. Trim removes extra background so every product is the same size in the frame.
  3. 03Tap Create and download.

What size do marketplaces want?

Amazon recommends at least 1600 px (2000 × 2000 enables zoom), Shopify suggests 2048 × 2048, and Etsy works well at 2000 px. Square 2000 suits all three.

Does it remove a busy background?

No — it trims and replaces a plain background. For photos on a busy background, use Remove background, which cuts out the subject with an AI model on your device.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so your images never leave your device.
